The DownTown Lake Charles Crawfish Fest is being held April 12-15, 2012 in downtown Lake Charles. All ages are welcome as there will be activities for everyone. Bring a friend – or two – and your appetite. Each year, the annual Crawfish Fest exceeds festival goers’ expectations with the amount of food, genre of music and wealth of entertainment. This year, you can expect over 10,000 pounds of crawfish, a number of featured artists and the best food and fun at one of the largest indoor and outdoor festivals in Southwest Louisiana. The event will be held at the Lake Charles Civic Center Exhibition Hall at 900 Lakeshore Drive.
Since the DownTown Lake Charles Crawfish Fest is so well-known and draws in people from all over the area and beyond, there is much planning and preparation that goes into the event. While the majority of people come for the boiled crawfish, they live with memories to last a lifetime. And thanks to warmer temperatures and a rainy start to the spring season, the crawfish have been coming in plentiful quantities. Be prepared to let your taste buds soar.

The events will continue throughout the weekend with a DownTown Lake Charles Crawfish Festival Queen’s Pageant, seminars and workshops about the Louisiana Crawfish industry, Cajun and Zydeco music workshops and information about the Creole culture that Louisiana is driven by.
